The Helen Sawaya Fund Featured on WCBS, Channel 2, Saturday September 8, 2012 7pm

September 8th at 7pm, The Helen Sawaya Fund will be featured on the WCBS Special Edition Race for the Cure. I will be speaking on behalf of the Creative Center Artist-in-Residence Program. Please tune in, and tell all your friends, family and loved ones!

Nikki is a visual artist who lives and works in NY. She exhibits in galleries, museums and alternative spaces across the world, most notably in the United States and China. In addition, you can find artwork by the artist in Istanbul, at PG Art Gallery.

Aside from her own Art, Nikki is the Artist-in-Residence for Outpatient Oncology, at Mt. Sinai West (formally Roosevelt). For ten years she’s been engaging patients and their families with Art during (often very long) chemotherapy treatments. This special artist residency is fully funded by The Helen Sawaya Fund.

Nikki Schiro is the co-creator and director of OZANEAUX ArtSpace, a philanthropic, artist-run exhibition/project space established in 2009, with her partner, Frederic Ozaneaux. Here she volunteers her personal time, knowledge and professional experience to empower underrepresented artists and curators in her community.

In the bits of spare time left-over, Nikki enjoys dancing Tango, is a student of mysticism and the human condition.
